Principal’s Message

At Paramount Cottage Home, we treat every child and every family with health support, positive communication, and focused instruction.

Welcome to Paramount Cottage Home (CH). Our school was established in 2018 to serve students in grades K-4 as Paramount Schools of Excellence’s second campus. Next school year, I am pleased to announce that we will be moving to a state-of-the-art learning space at 1203 East St. Clair Street in the Cottage Home neighborhood. Our relocation accommodates the school’s continued growth in an innovative facility. The new building will feature bright, spacious classrooms with contemporary furnishings, advanced technology capabilities, and unique experiential discovery centers.

I am proud to share that the school’s 2019 ILEARN scores are one of the highest in the state – a testament to the strength of Paramount’s educational frameworks. While our school is changing locations, our commitment to CH’s students remains steadfast. Families can expect our continued dedication to excellence, the same school leadership, and teaching staff, and accountability during this dynamic stage of growth.

I have worked in the Paramount system for 7 years. Before establishing Paramount’s second campus, I was the Assistant Principal at the Paramount Brookside campus. As a 2002 graduate of Central Michigan University, I began my career as a High School Teacher and football coach. First, in Fort Wayne, Indiana, and then at Elmhurst High School and Farwell High School in Michigan. In 2010, I received my Master’s degree in Education Leadership and school administrator license from Indiana Wesleyan University.

Paramount Cottage Home embodies the community school model, by blending a consistent and dedicated focus on the community with a desire to protect and grow the academic environment. We are proud of all of the academic and extracurricular opportunities available to students. Paramount Cottage Home strives to become an anchor in the community. In doing this, we actively participate in community fairs, neighborhood cleanups, recycling, and farming.

The success of our students is built on the partnerships we have with our families and the neighborhood. We are grateful to have the opportunity to work with you and your children.
